Resize partition includes extend partition or shrink partition size, with the help of Partition Assistant you could resize partition easily and accurately.

Extend Partition

“Extend partition” means increase partition size, to extend one partition; you should notice three points below:

There must be an unallocated space locate on the same hard disk with the partition which you want to extend. If there’s no unallocated space, you could shrink other partition to release the unallocated space.
The unallocated space should beside the partition which you want to extend. If not, you could use the feature “Move Partition” to adjust their position.

Step1. Launch Partition Assistant; in the main console you could view the whole partition configuration. Right-click the partition which you want to extend, select “Resize Partition”,

Step2. In the pop-up window, position the mouse pointer to each sides edge of the partition, drag the border rightwards or leftwards to extend partition. Then click “OK”. (If there’s no unallocated space beside the partition, you could not drag the border).

Then it will back to main console and you could view the partition be extended.

Step3. Click the “apply” on the tool bar to commit the operation.

Shrink Partition

Shrink partition could help you release some unallocated space from one partition, after release the unallocated space, you could make new partition or increase other partition with the unallocated space.

Step1. Launch Partition Assistant; in the main console you could view the whole partition configuration. Right-click the partition which you want to shrink, select “Resize Partition”,

Step2. In the pop-up window, position the mouse pointer to each sides edge of the partition, drag the border rightwards or leftwards to shrink partition. Then click “OK”.

Then it will back to main console, and you could view the unallocated space beside the partition.

Step3. Click the “apply” on the tool bar to commit the operation.

Tips: You could use Partition Assistant to merge unallocated space to other partitions to extend target partition. You could also create more partitions with the unallocated space.
